Just over a month after the UFC visits Dublin another high quality MMA show will follow. Today, Cage Warriors Fighting Championship announced its card for The Helix in Dublin, on Saturday, August 16, 2014. For the first time in almost three years former CWFC lightweight title challenger Joseph Duffy (10-1) will take to the cage following an unbeaten career as a professional boxer. The Donegal man will take on French prospect Damien Lapilus (9-3-1, 1 no contest) in the main event at Cage Warriors 70.
Lapilus, who has a two wins and a draw already this year said via a press release: “This will be a big challenge for me but I’m excited for it. Fighting on this event for Cage Warriors is a great opportunity which I’m really looking forward to.”
While Duffy said; “I can’t wait to put some new skills on show for one of the best promotions in the world, especially in front of a home crowd… It’s going to be a cracker.”
Also featured on the card will be SBG welterweight Philip Mulpeter (7-4) who takes on Englishman Jake Bostwick (15-8-0, 1 no contest) in what makes for a magnificent bout.
Elsewhere, Team Ryano standout Paul Redmond fights fellow Irishman Micky Doyle and former Bellator fighter Andrew Fisher makes his CWFC debut against veteran Artem Lobov.
