Reports emerged yesterday that UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo has suffered a rib injury and that his bout with McGregor is in jeopardy. As the story developed Aldo’s coach gave an interview to Combate in which he said that the bout with McGregor would not happen until October if the fractured rib was confirmed.
At this time, the Aldo vs McGregor bout is still scheduled for UFC 189 but if Aldo can’t compete they could replace him with another opponent or move the bout to a later date.
Conor McGregor took to twitter and hinted that he would be on the card with or without Aldo “Just know that it is business as usual up here at the top. See you all on July 11th.”
