Following his victory over Augusto Montano at UFC 188, Cathal Pendred revealed to 2FM earlier in the week that he is looking to get back in the octagon in the next five weeks and is hoping for an opportunity to replace a fellow welterweight on one of the UFC’s upcoming cards.
Pendred is looking to go 5-0 in the calendar year in the UFC, so he has until 19th July 2015 to get himself an opponent. Having put in an extensive camp in Mexico for his UFC 188 bout and having taken very little damage in his last bout he says he is raring to go.
According to MMAInterviews.tv’s Spencer Lazara sources, Brazilian welterweight Erick Silva may be out of his bout with Rick Story on 27th June in Florida due to visa issues and Pendred has said via his twitter that he wants to step in.
