UFC president Dana White appeared on ESPN’s SportCenter and announced that Jose Aldo is officially out of UFC 189 and that Chad Mendes will now face Conor McGregor for the interim featherweight championship at UFC 189 on 11th July 2015.
Jose Aldo’s coach Andre Pederneiras has said that the rib is too hurt and that he is out of UFC 189.
This is the fifth title bout that champion Jose Aldo has pulled out of with an injury and Dana White expressed his displeasure with this happening again.
“It’s his decision” said White of Aldo “I definitely don’t feel great about it. He’s pulled out of five title fights. I don’t feel great about it, we spent a lot of money promoting this!”
