It was announced on ESPN’s SportsCenter tonight that Chris Weidman will defend his UFC middleweight championship against Luke Rockhold in the co-main of UFC 194: Aldo vs McGregor on 12th December 2015 in Las Vegas.
Undefeated champion Weidman ended the incredible run of Anderson Silva with a brutal KO and a broken leg TKO victory over the previously untouchable champion.
Since then successfully defended his middleweight strap against Vitor Belfort last month at UFC 187 with a first round TKO after a dominant decision victory over former 205lb champion Lyoto Machida back in July 2014.
Former Strikeforce champion Luke Rockhold is 4-1 inside the octagon and has finished his opponents impressively in each of his UFC victories. The AKA product is coming off a dominant second round submission victory over Machida.
