After a bad week for Irish MMA fans there is some good news this afternoon with word breaking that Irish lightweight Joseph Duffy will be back in action this summer. The Donegalman will take on Mitch Clare on July 7th as part of the card which features the lightweight title fight between Eddie Alvarez and current champion Rafael Dos Anjos.

Now training out of Tristar in Montreal, Canada Duffy will be looking to bounce back from his first UFC loss to Dustin Poirier last time out. Previous to that, Duffy had won his two Octagon outings against Ivan Jorge and Jake Lindsey having entered the UFC with a 12-1 MMA record as well as an unblemished 7-0 professional boxing slate.
Hailing from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada Mitch Clarke is a very dangerous proposition for anyone in the lightweight division today. Currently 11-3 as an MMA fighter, Clarke is most dangerous on the ground with 7 submission wins – the pick of which came against the highly touted Al Iaquinta at UFC 173. Clarke, like Duffy, Will be looking to bounce back after a loss to Michael Chiesa last time out.
