MMAFighting are reporting that the match-up the hardcore fans demanded has today been verbally agreed as Michael Bisping defends his UFC middleweight title in a rematch with Dan Henderson.
The fight is scheduled to take place the Manchester Arena in Manchester, U.K. on 8th October 2016 at UFC 204.
The main event is expected to start at around 5am local time as the event will air on PPV in North America.
In the first fight between the pair, Henderson brutally knocked Bisping out and the Brit has long searched for the rematch since.
Recently, it had been suggested the pair could rematch in what was akin to a seniors’ tour meeting with both of their careers seemingly coming to an end.
But when Bisping knocked out Luke Rockhold to win the title on short notice and Dan Henderson finished Hector Lombard on the same card it suddenly became (somewhat) relevant matchmaking that (kind of) makes sense.
The fight will serve as Bisping’s first title defence and quite possibly the last time we see Dan Henderson in competitive action.
