There’s a new UFC belt coming in the new year.
After much speculation, the UFC announced on Tuesday night that a women’s featherweight division was about to be created. In the Inagural fight at UFC 208, Holly Holm will take on Germaine De Randamie to become the first ever champion.

The news of the match-up, more than the new division itself, was the real shocker of the announcement as it was thought that Invicta featherweight champion Cris “Cyborg” Justino was the main reason the division was being created.
Although it was not part of the announcement, it’s likely that the winner will face Justino later in the year.
UFC 208 goes down in Brooklyn, New York on Saturday, February 11th.
