Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting originally reported and Bellator MMA president Scott Coker confirmed minutes later that tonight’s scheduled Bellator 172 main event between Matt Mitrione and Fedor Emelianenko has been cancelled at the last minute after Mitrione was forced to withdraw with an illness.
Coker also revealed that Patricky Freire vs Josh Thomson has been promoted to the main event.
