Holm is coming into the bout following a third-round TKO finish over Bethe Correia in June of this year. This will be the second time in 2017 that Holm challenges for the 145 title. Back in February, Holm challenged Germaine De Randamie for the inaugural belt at 145lbs but lost on a split decision. De Randamie was subsequently stripped of the title.
Cyborg won the vacant featherweight championship back in July with a third-round stoppage over Tonia Evinger at UFC 214 in Anaheim, California.
Cyborg vs. Holm might serve as main event, but not official yet. I'm told that part is still in the air at the moment.
