Max Holloway has a new opponent for his first defense of the UFC featherweight championship at UFC 218 on December 2nd in Detroit, Michigan.
Former champion Jose Aldo will get a shot at redemption against Holloway, six months after he lost the belt to the Hawaiian at UFC 212 in June of this year.
Holloway had been scheduled to fight former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar but Edgar was pulled from the bout during the week after suffering a facial injury that required surgery.
Aldo also had a fight scheduled for December 16th in Winnipeg, Canada against Ricardo Lamas.
In their previous meeting back in June, Max Holloway defeated Jose Aldo via a third-round TKO by strikes to unify the featherweight titles.
