Dana White made the announcement via his social media today that Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje are to compete on the upcoming UFC 249 card for the interim lightweight title.
No location has been confirmed as of yet from the UFC President but a full card is expected to take place.
With current champion Khabib Nurmagomedov now in lockdowned Russia, the much anticipated fight with Ferguson could not possibly take place. Instead, one of the most exciting fighters in UFC history – Justin Gaethje – takes on Ferguson.
UFC 249 is set to take place Saturday April 18.
