On Tuesday, UFC president told ESPN that he plans on holding a major event early next month. He declined to give a location for the event but did say that his ‘Fight Island’ may be ready to host the PPV.
Earlier in the day the Governor of Florida gave the green light to Vince McMann’s WWE to hold events by deeming it an essential service in the state. ESPN broke the news that will surely catch the attention of Dana White.
White himself is coming off the back of the cancelation of his last PPV. He claimed ESPN and Disney bosses told him to ‘step down’ in his pursuit of holding UFC 249 at Tachi Palace Casino Resort on tribal lands in Lemoore, California. UFC were forced to postpone other shows on March 21, March 28, April 11 and April 18 due to the coronavirus.
The promotion was set to head for Brazil on May 9 where Rio de Janeiro was to host UFC 250. With those plans out the window it seems that all the focus is still putting on an event somehow, somewhere. The card itself will be made up of fights that have fallen through off of UFC 249 and the other poseponed events. According to White the card is as follows:
Tony Ferguson vs. Justin Gaethje
Henry Cejudo vs. Dominik Cruz
Amanda Nunes vs. Felecia Spencer
Francis Ngannou vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik
Jeremy Stephens vs. Calvin Kattar
Donald Cerrone vs. Anthony Pettis
Greg Hardy vs. Yorgan de Castro
Alexei Oleinik vs. Fabricio Werdum
Carla Esparza vs. Michelle Waterson
Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza vs. Uriah Hall
Vicente Luque vs. Niko Price
Charles Rosa vs. Bryce Mitchell
