Ireland’s Nathan Kelly (4-2) is set to face Spain’s Aridane Romero Rodriguez (8-1) at Centurion FC on Saturday 2nd July in Malta. Multiple sources confirmed the booking to SevereMMA.com.
The SBG Ireland fighter looks to continue his surging form against fellow BJJ black belt Rodriguez. Kelly scored back-to-back KOs in 2021, before besting Scott Pedersen over three rounds in his Bellator debut in front of a 3Arena crowd in February. The Finglas native rides a four-fight winning streak into the contest.
Rodriguez will be the most experienced opponent Kelly has faced thus far in his pro career. Rodriguez began rose to an undefeated 7-0 record, before snapping his winning streak in a KO loss at M-1 Challenge back in 2019. After 18 months away from the cage, Rodriguez returned to action at The Battle Championship in March, winning via medical stoppage.
