Severe MMA 2021 Amatuer of the Year Shauna Bannon (2-0) will face off against Nadia Vera (3-0-1) at Invicta FC 49 which takes place in Oklahoma on Wednesday, Sept. 28. The fight will be contested at strawweight with both women making their promotional debut.
Bannon, who signed with Invicta in July, will make her highly anticipated debut after a successful stint on the Irish regional scene. “Mama B” will travel Stateside after picking up two wins and two finishes to kick off her professional career. The Holohan Martial Arts standout picked up a knockout win over Kerry Isom last April and followed that with another impressive TKO victory against Chi Attoh in June. The former IMMAF World Cup gold medalist will kick off her Invicta stint against Mexico’s Nadia Vera.
Vera will also come into this contest undefeated after making her debut in April, 2021. She opened up her professional career defeating Jessica Artavia Tijerino by unanimous decision. Vera went on to beat Karla Pastrana by unanimous decision in her next fight. A unanimous draw against Nayara Maia kept Vera’s undefeated streak alive before picking up the first stoppage of her professional career with a TKO victory over Ana Segura to round off a very successful 2021 for the strawweight.
The event will be broadcast on AXS TV in the U.S., Fight Network in Canada, and Invicta’s official YouTube Channel and Facebook Page, kicking off at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT. Tickets to the event will go on sale Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 10 a.m. CT through StubWire.
