Severe MMA have confirmed with Bellator officials that Irish prospect Darragh Kelly will take on Dorval Jordan at the upcoming Bellator 291 card in Dublin, Ireland. The bout will be contested in the featherweight division.
This will be Kelly’s third outing for the American promotion, and Jordan’s promotional debut.
Kelly (2-0), who will fight at featherweight for the first time in his professional career, hails from Donegal and fights out of Dublin’s SBG under the tutelage of John Kavanagh. After an outstanding nine-fight undefeated Amateur career, Kelly debuted at lightweight in February of this year with a one-round mauling of Junior Morgan. In September that was followed by a unanimous decision win over Kye Stephens, with Kelly adamant improvements on that performance were to come.
The match-up with Jordan will be his first opportunity to show that. Fighting out of France, Jordan has four fights equally sharing wins and losses. Debuting with a loss in 2019, Jordan had over two years before his next fight. That ended in a stoppage victory before a loss and win in 2022 both also ended in stoppages.
Bellator 291 takes place on a rearranged date of SATURDAY February 25th, 2023 and will be headlined by the Bellator welterweight unification bout between Yaroslav Amosov and Logan Storley.
