After last year’s UFC Dublin was ravaged with injury, there’s more bad news for Irish MMA fans today as MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani is reporting that the main event of UFC Belfast has been cancelled.
The Nelson-Kim Belfast main event is off. Mousasi-Hall 2 is in the works as the new main, per sources. Story coming to @MMAFighting shortly.

That headliner was supposed to be SBG Ireland fighter Gunnar Nelson taking on Korean Superstar Dong Hyun Kim in a much anticipated welterweight clash.
Now Helwani reports (and MMAJunkie have since confirmed with their sources) that a middleweight bout between Gegard Mousasi and Uriah Hall is being targeted for the event. Both men are currently ranked in the top-10 of their division and have fought once before. On that occasion, Mousasi dominated much of the fight before being viciously knocked out by Hall midway through the fight.
UFC Belfast will be the 99th fight night event in UFC history and will take place in the Northern Irish capital on November 19th at the SSE Hydro arena.
