Japanese flyweight Kyoji Horiguchi has left the UFC and has signed with Asian based promotion Rizin Fighting Federation.
Rizin promoter Nobuyuki Sakakibara confirmed the news earlier this morning via Twitter.
The flyweight competitor, who was ranked #3 in his respective division in the UFC, had reportedly hoped to renew his contract with the UFC, however this didn’t occur.
Horiguchi leaves the company with an impressive record of 7-1 and was on a 3-fight win streak, the only loss in his UFC career being to current flyweight title holder Demetrious Johnson.
