After arguably the most insane week in the history of MMA, the UFC 223 main event has been finalised. Khabib Nurmagomedov will fight Al Iaquinta for the UFC lightweight title. But, Nurmagomedov will be the only person able to win the title because Iaquinta weighed 155.2 lbs earlier today.
Initially, Nurmagomedov was scheduled to fight Tony Ferguson but he was injured after a fall earlier this week. Then, Max Holloway stepped in but wasn’t cleared by the New York commission earlier today due to concerns over his weight. Iaquinta was scheduled to fight Paul Felder who is now off the card. Dana White confirmed the news which was first reported by MMA junkie.
