At a Spring/Summer press conference event held by Bellator in New York it was announced that Peter Queally is to headline against Patricky ‘Pitbull’ Freire. The event is set to take place later this year on October 3rd in Dublin’s 3 Arena.
Queally who was set to headline the promotions last sold out show last month was ruled out due to injury. But he gets his chance to entertain fans on the big stage when he fights Bellator veteran Freire in a Lightweight contest.
Freire is the older brother of Patricio Freire, who fights Pedro Carvalho for the Featherweight Title this weekend. He is a veteran in the promotion with 21 fights under the Bellator banner. He has notable wins over Josh Thomson, Benson Henderson, Rodger Huerta and Queally’s last opponent Ryan Scope.
Queally’s last outing saw him topple Ryan Scope in what was a fight for the ages at Bellator show in the capital last September. He will see this as a huge opportunity to jump up the ranking to get that coveted title shot at 155 pound title.
Bellator Dublin takes place in the 3 Arena on October 3rd, 2020. Tickets are on sale on March 20th.
