A week ago UFC announced plans to hold an event on May 9th. Today news was broken by MMAFighting.com that Florida is the likely destination where the event will be held. The Florida State Boxing Commision have already regulated an MMA event during the COVID-19 pandemic and are set to do so again as long as their guidelines are adhered to.
The event was originally set for April 18th in New York but was later moved to Tachi Palace Casino Resort in Lemoore, California. The event was eventually canceled due to the ongoing pandemic that is currently happening in the United States.
There have been no official fight announcements as of yet but there are two proposed title fights on the card. Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje are lined up to fight for the vacant lightweight title. Dominick Cruz is looking to step in at short notice to challenge Henry Cejudo for the Bantamweight Title.
