Earlier today Dana White confirmed to CNN that Khabib Nurmagomedov is to return to face Justin Gaethje on October 24th.
The highly anticipated bout is finally confirmed after an uncertain couple of months for champion Khabib. He recently suffered the loss of his father and trainer, Abdulmanap. He passed away earlier this month due to complications related to a Covid-19 infection.
Khabib steps in to fight current number one contender and interim champion Justin Gaethje. The American secured his status as interim champ when he finished Tony Ferguson in the last round when he came in as a late replacement for Nurmagomedov.
The bout is scheduled to take place at UFC 255 on October 24. No venue has been set as of yet.
