MMA Cork’s John Mitchell returned to action this Thursday evening at Cage Warriors 114, and did it in style. The lightweight came into his fight with Alan Brykalski at 1-0 but quickly made that 2-0 with a first round submission win.
The musclebound Brykalski came out hard and fast as many expected, catching Mitchell with a short shot inside as both men entered enemy territory. The Corkonian immediately shook that off before clinching and putting his opponent on his back.
From there, it was all Mitchell. Some nice knees in side-control were followed by ferocious strikes on top which forced Brykalski to give up his back. And that was basically it. As soon as Mitchell inserted both hooks and his arm under the chin, the tap came.
Afterwards Mitchell called for a spot on the rumoured upcoming November card, one which should be guaranteed after that performance.
