The highly anticipated fight between Nate Diaz and Leon Edwards which was scheduled for May 15 has been pushed back to UFC 263 on June 12.
Kevin Iole from Yahoo! Sports first broke the news that the first five round co-main event in UFC history was pushed back due to a minor Diaz injury.
Ariel Helwani of ESPN later confirmed the news, he also confirmed that the fight would remain a five-round non-title fight. The injury that Diaz has suffered is unknown.
UFC 263 takes place at the Gila River Arena in Glendale Arizona. The middleweight championships is on the line on the same card as Israel Adesanya defends his crown against Marvin Vettori. Also on the card in a flyweight title rematch as Champion Deiveson Figueiredo takes on Brandon Moreno. The addition of the Diaz/Edwards fight is going to be a real treat for fight fans in Arizona.
