Sources close to the situation have revealed to SevereMMA that Irishman Lee Hammond (5-0) is set to return to action against Mexican fighter Ivan Castillo (23-17) in a lightweight bout at Combate Global: Ireland vs Mexico on December 17th.
Lee Hammond is an undefeated mixed martial artist hailing from SBG Ireland with an 80% finishing rate. He most recently featured on The Ultimate Fighter 31: McGregor vs. Chandler where he suffered a final minute submission loss in an exhibition bout to eventual season winner Kurt Holobaugh.
Ivan Castillo is an 11-time veteran of the Combate Global cage fresh off of a unanimous decision victory in August against Santiago Guzman which snapped a four-fight losing streak for him.
Also on the card is SBG’s Katie Saull (5-6) who will be taking on Estefania Rodriguez (3-1). SevereMMA previously reported that Cian Cowley (5-5) will be facing Daniel Sanchez Vasquez (5-2) on this same card. Also previously announced, Cork’s Pa Lehane (5-2) is set to faceoff against Mexican Roberto Romero Hernandez (7-2-1) who is undefeated in six fights with Combate Global.
Combate Global: Ireland vs Mexico is set to take place in Miami, Florida on 17th December 2023.
