“I hyperextended it three weeks out, and it was iffy as to whether I was going to do the fight,” Bermudez said of the bout, which took place this past Saturday at The Pearl at The Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and aired live on Spike TV. “We trained around it and stopped sparring.”
“I knew it was shot,” he said. “It hurt before it would normally.”
Joe Rogan during commentary suggested the armbar had hold broke Bermudez’s arm, but Bermudez said that’s wasn’t the case and that he hopes to fight again soon.
“Ideally, I’d probably like to fight two months into the new year,” Bermudez said.
